Crossed interview : Syvhaar & Sirr
csf`KiLi : Hi guys. Could you please introduce yourself to our readers ?

Syvhaar : Hello, my name is Martin Siebenhaar, im 24 years old, and play under the nickname Syvhaar. As a living I work with kids, with whom I very much enjoy playing live-roleplay with, which is also my hobby. Playing with Aurora-Gaming my role is being ingame tac-leader.

Sirr : Of cause, my name is Jonas Darnétt Loges, 18 years old. I have recently moved to a town in Jutland called Grenaa. Im at the moment studying at a IT College, which will take 3 years. Im mostly known for being a manager for teams such as Turtle, erratic, mibr and most lately NeverStop Gaming, where players such as SYvhaaR, StaN, Arcadion and so on played : )

csf`KiLi : How did you first come in contact with Counter-Strike ?

Sirr : Well, I have played cs for a couple of years now actually. Started off with random gaming places in Odense, but around cs 1,3 I got my own internet access and computer and started out playing de_dust and as_oilrig. And then those random ffa teams came along and I kinda just ended out here in some way ; )

Syvhaar : Well... I used to play games on a netcafe, which were located in my hometown. I mostly played a game called Ultima Online and through this game, I learned to know some other guys, who played on a netcafe as well, not far away from my hometown. When they stopped playing Ultima Online, they moved on to Counter strike on a high level, where as I started to play Rainbow6 in the best clan in the world at that time. But suddenly my mates, who moved on to Counter strike, were in need of a player and then they asked me. From there on we started to build up the team, and my interest for the game grew a lot, and at the same time I had a lot of fun with those guys, so here I am :)

csf`KiLi : Tell us a bit about your first clans

Sirr : Well its hard to tell anything related to actually playing the game, since my first clan, I remember being on a level worth telling you all about, was a team I managed. To be more precise, helping LoganSan (Bruno) out in team mibr (Brazil), where I got very fond of doing those things, which got me to keep doing it. But my first real team was just before Aurora-Gaming, called Paura with 4 irl mates, which made the bootcamps and lans a lot more fun - håndtegn til jer

Syvhaar : My first clan was PUI (playing under influence), where I played with Someone and tracer, who were the ones that showed me Counter strike in the first place. When we later on merged with eliteDanes and became a netcafe clan under the tag PUI.eD, we added up with Boo and Gaze, and I must say I had a lot of fun. We ended up being a top3 danish clan, where we played in the danish league called DEL. Later on, we broke up sadly…. Then I tried my wings in Counter strike on my own, without my irl friends by my side, this time I tried staying in PUI to build a new team up, we did and did good at a Lan called "Falster Lan" with zonic as stand in. But unfortunately we also ended breaking up, and I moved to Erogenic, where we also had some good players and a lot of fun. After Erogenic I ended up playing in NS.Gaming, where I played with Arcadion, wazorn, Stan and gfx. I must say that this were the clan where I had the best of times without my irl mates, because we played so very good and won over some of the top clans in the world at Lans, for instance Speedlink.se

csf`KiLi : Why did you choose a female clan ? Did any of the players from Aurora-Gaming contact you ?

Sirr : Well, I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be playing side by side with a player like martin (who I was the manager for in team NS.Gaming - and proud of the same) and girls, whom all have been to some of the worlds biggest Lan-events. It all started out with Nissepigen (malou) and I talked a bit together after I left my last team, and I started mixing with martin and the rest of the girls. This went pretty well, and we started playing with the idea of starting a gender mix team : ) - which I was very honored to be a part of, and still am.

Syvhaar : After I stopped in NS.Gaming, I had a good time playing, but was on the edge to stop because of work and irl things. But then I met Tina aka Pandora, who I started to play a lot of mixes with and had fun. She was playing in the female clan Aurora-Gaming, who wanted to make a female/male gender mix clan, and they asked me if I wanted to join. I couldn't say no to this, because I think it is important to play with people that you like and have a lot of fun with, since this is eventually what keeps you playing the game. So I take it very seriously, but also in a fun way, because to play with females who are good, is a blast, I must say. Kinda same thing as to go to a party, where there is only guys and no girls, like in Sirr`s partys (:D) is a reason also to choose this clan to have fun.

csf`KiLi : How does it feel to be the first professional mixed-gender-clan on the CS scene ?

Sirr : It feels real cool! We are aware of that we might have to take some beatings, before turning really good, but we are praccing as much as possible, and since we are going to be attending a couple of Lans in the near future, this will also give us a lot of experience.
We'll also be trying some swedish and norwegian lan parties out as well hoping for the best. I really believe in that one day, we'll be ready to take on some of the best teams in Denmark, and perhaps even international teams as well - as long as we stick together and play as a team.

Syvhaar : I must say its an honor actually to try something as big as this, and to do it professional also is exciting. To travel to Lans and to do the best we can, and who knows, even win, if we get that far, because females at the moment are getting good at this game. So in the end, with enough practice and enough experience, we might get others to join our way to get more clans like this one.

csf`KiLi : How was the first contact with your new female teammates ? And were there any difference in joining up with the girls, than with a male clan ?

Syvhaar : I dont think there was any different things with the girls, than with the males, we did the same kinda stuff as with the guys, play mix/cb etc., and I must say after the first bootcamp we had, I have found some new friends which I hope will last forever, because I really enjoy my new teammates a lot.

Sirr : I would say that the girls are better to talk about problems, you could end up having under games etc, than my experience with guys, The first meeting with the girls went just great, they welcomed us both very kindly - and we still have a lot of fun before a game, during (though still being serious) and after a game. Some sort of a nice friendship created online you might say.

csf`KiLi : What do you feel your female teammates brings you ingame that guys dont ?

Syvhaar : Well I did perform my best, when I played in the male clans, but I didn't have as much fun, as I think we have now in Aurora-Gaming. I do perform my best here as well, but playing with the girls I have a lot more fun, when im playing. We can laugh so much sometimes when we play, and I really enjoy that a lot.

Sirr : Well, as written earlier - I haven't really got the experience as for instance Martin or the other girls have - attending big known events etc.. So everything for me was something that contributed with positive things. I've got to be a bit better than when I started, but I think it'll only become better and better. My aim, my ingame iq and such have been boosted a lot since I started playing with these mates, and I love the fact that I feel a lot better as well. They, in short terms, boost my every skill ingame and besides that - they are great friends and just recently helped me through at tough time I had.

csf`KiLi : And what do you think you can bring them ingame ?

Sirr : I think I am as Anja (Vildkatte) wrote, their shining star. Im the one who still needs to prove my self online as well as offline. I try to act a little crazy ingame, but still serious. Crazy as in shouting when winning rounds, having nice gun/eco rounds and such. Hopefully I'll be able to someday give them more, but right now Im just trying to take all of their skills on my cape and do my best, and of course I hope that one day I'll be more then just the guy, who needs to show him self ; )

Syvhaar : I hope I can bring them a lot of experience, and hope they will learn some of the things I know, that can improve their gameplay, and of cause the other way around, because sometimes I must say, they do surprise me with their gameknowledge and skills, so I can actually learn from them as well.

csf`KiLi : In competitions like ESWC, spectators can see both male and female teams playing, so they have the opportunity to see and analyze the basic differencies between the two game styles. Since your now playing in a mixed-gender-team, could you tell us what the biggest differencies are ?

Sirr : Well my guess would be the aim, but their 'lack' of aim (dont take this the wrong way, they have their onfire/off days just like the rest) only gets caught up by their high standard tactics. Especially playing male teams, we can see that our tacs often give us the better position in the game. So yeah, tactics are probably one of their best qualities and, well, if one should be said, the aim would most likely be the one pulling them 'down' a bit.

Syvhaar : I would say aim, and the way to manouvre your character. They are becoming a lot better to do this, but I still see some lack of skills there, sorry to say. Playing with the girls in Aurora-Gaming, I hope to help the girls evolve just this, so they can become a lot better to do the things required in order to do high level tacs, because they know how to perform the difficult tacs, so they are not as far behind as many might think.

csf`KiLi : Now that you have more insight about female players and the female CS-scene, can you see more clearly than before how fast it's evolving ?

Syvhaar : I must say they are evolving in express speed. They learn a lot of new things everyday, and everyday they try to do it better and better, so they can build up a routine, as everyone does in order to perform their best, and to keep on evolving their own playingstyles.

Sirr : Yeah well, I've never doubted that one day the female and male scene would be able to play against eachother with positive results. But yeah, playing side by side with female players makes you realize, that they really have something to offer to the counter-strike scene, and I truely hope that the male scene someday will be able to see this instead of making a mockery of the female teams, give it time and it'll be great : )

csf`KiLi : Many people think that it's easier for a female clan to get sponsors. What do you think about it ?

Sirr : It is, it truely is. I've worked as a manager for several more or less unknown teams, and the more known teams. The female scene only represent around 10% of the whole counter-strike scene, So therefore the attention they get, is very big and easy to get compared to male teams, who really need to prove themselves before getting a big sponsor deal, or even just to get publicity.

Syvhaar : Well I actually think its 50/50, because I see a lot of male clans with insane sponsors, but still I see female clans with just as good sponsors as the male clans. So I think its nice to see that the sponsors don't pick just one side. But of course the female side of CS aren't as big as the male in numbers, but a fact is that females are better to sell things, than the males are, so bottom line is perhaps 60/40 in the females favor.

csf`KiLi : How can you guys remain focused on the game while playing with 3 of the hottest female players ever ?

Sirr : It isn't really hard maintaining focus ingame - we boost each other all the time. Of course these 3 girls are attractive, but I see them as friends and not people I'm hoping to date. They are just cool friends outside the game, and when we are live, we just give it full throttle and really dont think about the looks of each other. Just think if we thought about how Martin looked all the time, joke aside, it isn't something we waste our time on ingame or outside the game : )

Syvhaar : Well they are good looking I must agree on that, but think with your head, not your d... BEEP, so bottom line is that, I see them as friends, not as fancy models I could drool over:)

csf`KiLi : Ok dudes, that was the official version, you can say that when the girls are besides you... gimme the dirty version !

Sirr : Haha, go hump a turtle or somethin' dude.. your way to horny to do this now.

Syvhaar : Lets see, if I play too much with the girls, and have to bootcamp with them, im going to end up dreaming about playing hide and seek with them naked HE HE HE :)

csf`KiLi : Thank you for your time guys. Any last shout-outs ?

Sirr : I would like to thank www.Aurora-Group.dk for giving us this tremendous chance in showing everybody what a gender-mix-team can achieve. A big thanks for all of the support out there, hope we'll get the same amount of support offline.

Syvhaar : I would like to thank our sponsors www.Aurora-Group.dk and especially Thomas from the company, who has done so much for the team! Thanks to Razer, Everglide, TDK, Speedlink and Sitecom. Also I would of course like to thank my teammates for being as great as they are.
And last but not at least; GET MOVING OUT THERE! and lets have more gender-mixed-clans. GGskills ;)
